Reciprocal Moorage for CYC Guests

CYC reciprocal slips


CYC Bellingham members, through the cooperation of the Port of Bellingham, have approximately 20 reciprocal slips available to members of yacht clubs that have reciprocal agreements with us.

These slips are available only when CYC members occupying these slips are out cruising. Reciprocal privileges are on a first-come, space-available basis.

Boats up to 36 feet overall can be accommodated.

Please respect the rules for the usage of these Port of Bellingham slips, or they may be lost to you and others forever. You are responsible for your actions and must take responsibility for any damage caused to the Port's facilities, other boats and/or people by your actions.

In using these facilities, you agree to hold harmless the Port of Bellingham and Corinthian Yacht Club of Bellingham for damages caused by your actions.

How to find CYC reciprocal slips in Bellingham

  • Upon entering the EAST entrance of Squalicum Harbor in Bellingham Bay, proceed past the Hotel Bellwether and Anthony's Hearthfire Restaurant (on your starboard).

  • Your boat's bow will be pointed to the visitors' dock, shown as the "O" dock or “P” dock above.

  • A CYC sign is located at the west end of this dock, and you may tie up to the visitors' dock temporarily to walk around to the M-West and N-West docks to see if there is a CYC member slip available.  

Procedures for the use of CYC reciprocal slips


Refer to the map above to locate CYC reciprocal slips, which are as follows:

Up to 32' boat length overall: "M" West 49, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58
Up to 36' boat length overall: "N" West 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46

  1. Walk the dock to locate the reciprocal slips and determine which ones may be available.

  2. Look for the vertical CYC AVAILABLE sign by the entrance to the slip. If there is no sign and no boat, assume that the slip is NOT available.

  3. Open the tube attached to the dock box at the reciprocal slips to read the owner’s name and date of return. You may use the slip if the stated date is no sooner than tomorrow’s date.

  4. Move your boat into the slip.

  5. Fly your club’s burgee.

  6. Take your cellphone with you to register your boat at the port kiosk, which is located on shore, outside the locked gate that will lock behind you.

  7. After exiting the locked gate, turn right toward the group of buildings and look for a kiosk outside the Loft restaurant and across from the restrooms and showers.

  8. Fill out all the information on the Squalicum Harbor registration/pay envelope and write CYC Reciprocal in the “Fees Enclosed” space.

  9. Indicate the departure date in the space provided and then call the number on the back of the flap to obtain the code for the locked gate to the visitors dock. See, you really did need to take your cellphone with you. If you forgot it, you’ll have to borrow someone’s phone.

  10. Detach the envelope flap to put on your boat and deposit the envelope in the drop box.

  11. Put your moorage pass on your boat and stay on the vessel overnight (required). If you leave the vessel, please leave a note as to where or how you may reached.

  12. Please vacate the slip prior to the owner's return.

If no CYC member slips are available on M or N docks

You may stay in any open spot on the Visitor Dock, and CYC will reimburse you for one night’s stay.


Register and pay at the visitor’s kiosk next to the Loft restaurant or pay at the Marina office. Then mail to PO Box 101, Bellingham, WA, 98227 or text a photo with the following material to 815 3980, with area code 360.

  • Your name
  • Your mailing address
  • Your reciprocal club
  • The date of your visit
  • Your boat name and length
  • The amount you paid
  • Your port receipt and/or your completed Port visitor form

CYC will verify your membership, club reciprocity and Port of Bellingham payment and send you reimbursement for one night’s moorage at the Squalicum Harbor Visitor Dock.
